Buildings and Grounds

The Properties Committee assists the Rector and the Vestry in managing the maintenance and improvements of the entire physical property at St. Andrew’s. This includes the church building, Schofield Fellowship Hall, the parish office building and the parish grounds.

 

Columbarium Task Force

This task force is exploring the possibility of constructing and facilitating a columbarium at St. Andrew's.

Endowment Committee

Meets as Needed in the Parish Offices

Committee members are appointed by the Vestry for their financial and business experience and knowledge. The Endowment Committee selects a custodian and an investment manager for the fund, and directs investment policy while insuring that the funds are not violated.

 

Episcopal Church Women (ECW)

What is the ECW? The question is not "what", but "who?" These initials are quick-talk for Episcopal Church Women. The ECW is quite simply the women who attend the Episcopal Church. There is no way to join, nor any way to retire. Whether she attends meetings or not, enjoys our group or avoids it, takes part or is inactive; each woman who attends St. Andrew's is automatically a member of the ECW. The ECW concentrates on welcoming newcomers to St. Andrew's, planning social activities, and scheduling programs of special interest for women.

 

Executive Committee

Comprised of the Rector, Sr. Warden, Jr. Warden, Treasurer and whomever the Rector deems necessary. This group advises the Rector and the Vestry but does not make binding parish decisions.

 

Evangelism Committee

Fourth Tuesday of Each Month at 6 p.m. in the Parish Offices

The Evangelism Committee seeks to share the Good News with others. The committee reaches out in love to share the joy of God with others, so all may know the wonder of Christ. This committee also works to involve all members of the church in fellowship events and the life of the parish.

 

Finance Committee

The mission of the Finance Committee is to assist and advise the Vestry and the Rector in all matters of finance. The Finance Committee also reports regularly to the organizations, committees, and guilds that are responsible for various funds.

Garden Care

This group of amateur horticulturists provides care for our plants, flowers, palms, and shrubs throughout the church grounds.

Nominating Committee

The Vestry Nominating Committee identifies and recruits candidates to run for Vestry. Ideally, the committee will seek out at least two people for every open position. Nominations can also be received from the floor of the Annual Meeting.

Stewardship Committee

The Stewardship Committee helps to communicate God’s call to us to be good stewards of the resources with which we are endowed – our time, talents, and treasures – and to facilitate the development of each parishioner’s need to give to support the ministries of the Church.

Vestry

Third Tuesday of Each Month (except July) at 7 p.m. in the Parish Offices

The Vestry is the governing body of an Episcopal Church. At St. Andrew's, our Vestry consists of twelve Parish members and the Rector. The Vestry members are elected in January during the Annual Meeting, and they are to represent and serve the people of the Parish. Vestry members serve a three year term of office. The Vestry is responsible for all church property and assets, approves the budget, and authorizes major expenditures. The Vestry calls (hires) the Rector with the approval of the Bishop, and sets the Rector’s salary on the recommendation of the Wardens. The Rector, in turn, hires and supervises all other Clergy and church staff, and has canonical responsibility for the liturgy, worship and theological decisions for the Parish. It is important to the Vestry that all parishioners feel welcome to share their thoughts and ideas about God’s vision for St. Andrew’s as a Christian community. Parishioners are welcome to attend Vestry meetings.
